Aya was discovered and signed to Warner Brothers Music by Jac Holzman, founder of Elektra Records and the visionary behind The Doors, Queen, and The Stooges. Her voice and songwriting have been featured alongside KD Lang, Tori Amos, Sia and Regina Spektor on Rykodisk releases, and she has collaborated with top producers including Rob Fusari (Lady Gaga), Patrick Leonard (Madonna), Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Jake Davies (Björk, Keane), Greg Camp (Smashmouth), Trevy Felix (Boomshaka), Angelo Moore (Fishbone—a dream come true!), Patrick Cassidy (Hannibal, Calvary), Marcello De Francisci (Lisa Gerrard), Mike Schmid (Miley Cyrus), Alberto Bof (A Star is Born), Harlan Steinberger (Henhouse Studios) and Nick Phoenix (Two Steps From Hell). Her work spans network TV, commercials, and major films—from recording with Leonard Cohen to appearing on trailers for Star Trek, Twilight, and more. Releases include Immediate Music’s Triumph, Two Steps From Hell’s Skyworld(and several others) and her electro-dance EP DLYLA. She co-wrote, sang, and produced visuals for the single Don’t Let Your Love Annihilate, with Alberto Bof, which won the DGA’s Up-and-Coming Cinematographer Award and was spotlighted on Arri Alexa’s homepage in 2013. Her voice is also the centerpiece of Quantum Leap/EastWest’s Voices of Passion.

Aya recorded and toured with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on Push the Sky Away (produced by Nick Launay), which earned a Novella Award in 2014 and an ARIA Award in 2013; she also performed as a soloist at Walt Disney Concert Hall with Two Steps From Hell. Her voice is featured in John Michael McDonagh’s Calvary (2014), scored by Patrick Cassidy, which won 9 international awards including ASCAP’s “Composer’s Choice Award,” and in Cassidy’s score for 1916: The Irish Rebellion (2016), which received multiple honors including an IFTA (Best Documentary Series), the Silver Saber in Warsaw, and American Public Television’s Excellence in Programming Award. Today, she is a Senior Compositor at the Las Vegas Sphere, creating visuals for the largest screens on earth.

This album is dedicated to William George Peard and Masako Matsuura Peard.
